Our 2025 recap

Exhibited at 13 UK exhibitions and 3 international shows, most notably Interzum, one of the biggest in Europe.

Explored new markets through exhibitions such as LiGHT25 and HiX while expanding our digital footprint by introducing Leisure and Specification sectors to our website.

Proudly opened our showroom, welcoming over 100+ visitors, and continued to invest in customer experience launching the Driver Calculator and Brand Portal, to simplify specification and improve access to marketing resources.

Our industry impact was recognised through the Wakefield Top 100 businesses and multiple award nominations, achieving a Highly Commended accolade for Best Accessory Brand at the BKU Awards.

5,200 hours dedicated to training over 10,000 designers, supported by the refurbishment of our mobile training van, MiCK.

Collaboration with the installer focus groups helped launch 14 new product ranges taking into consideration their valuable feedback.

Continued to achieve widespread press coverage throughout the year and prioritised team culture and community by hosting 8 staff events and supporting 4 local charites.

2000

Where it all began

It all started with father-and-son, Ray and Michael Linsky, founding the company in 2000 and working out of the family garage.

2002

Before Sensio

Before we become Sensio, we launched under the name M.R. Lighting based in Drighlington, West Yorkshire with a 9,000 sq ft premises.

2007 - 2008

Sensio Launched

We adopted the name Sensio and secured larger premises in Featherstone, West Yorkshire, covering 9000 sq ft.

2010

Global Dreams

Our aim to create a global brand was recognised in 2010 when Sensio America began trading. With offices in Illinois and New York, the team at Sensio America are highly experienced and committed to growing the Sensio brand.

2011

Award Winning

We received awards at Excel London and the Kitchen Retailer, Ireland, for our innovative lighting designs. This continued throughout the up and coming years.

2012 - 2013

Rapid Expansion

The company expanded with the launch of Sensio Slovenia and at the same time head office was moved to a new 29,000 sq ft premises in Castleford, West Yorkshire.

The teams grew and the Product Design & Development department was created with a great product development internship programme.

2017

Bolstering Our Team

The Hong Kong office opens to provide an integral link between our UK operations and our manufacturing partners. This enabled us to reinforce our supply chain efficiencies.

2019

Extraordinary Service

Implementation of new systems to improve customer service responses and streamline the order processing and warehouse operations, saw us recognised in the Top 10 companies in the Digital Enterprise Awards.

2020

Exceptional Customer Support

The pandemic saw us, like many, having to reduce our team, but we stayed open throughout to help support our valued partners and customers trade through lockdowns.

In late September 2020 we launched our training van MiCK (Mobile Illumination Centre for KBB).

2021

Further Expansion

As our product offering grew with the launch of Illuminated Bathroom Mirrors, so did our team, so we expanded in to a second 29,000 sq ft premises in Castleford, West Yorkshire.

2022

Innovative Smart Techology

Our innovative product team launched the first LED bathroom mirror, in the UK, to have and Amazon Alexa built in.

Throughout 2022 our training department visited over 1400 designers nationwide in our mobile training van, MiCK.

2023

Market Leaders & Expansion in to Europe

In 2023 we became the market leading experts in the KBB industry with our products available in 75% of retailers across manufacturers, DIY and distribution.

Going green: We removed 90% of plastic packaging on Bathroom products and we installed solar panels on both our warehouse and office sites in Castleford.

Our commitment to growth and excellence led us to establish Sensio France in the city of Cholet, with Fabien & Thomas, which marks a monumental milestone in our global expansion.

2024

Onboarding The Spanish Market

With growing success in the French market we decided to move Sensio into Spain by welcoming Felix as our new Sales Director.

Exhibition success: In 2024 we exhibited at 8 shows in total with the highlights being:

  • KBB 2024; packed full of new innovative lighting solutions for our main sector.
  • Materials & Finishes and InstallerSHOW; to understand more about how Joiners, Carpenters, Plumbers, Electricians and KBB Installers use our products to better help adapt our offering.

Following on from show success and customer collaboration, we became an advocate member of BIKBBI, partnered up with ArtiCAD to strengthen our offering to designers and launched the Innovate 25 range, designed with the installer in mind.
